This week I have been asked to create a map for my digital portfolio. I have already written about what might be included in the portfolio in a previous post. The challenge has been in deciding where to house my digital portfolio. My professors shared many options and examples of digital spaces designed for this purpose. After exploring several of them, I have decided to try out Wix.com. This website provides many designs and templates and presents a professional appearance. It is used by businesses and for the purpose of digital portfolios. It looks like it will be relatively easy to use, although I may get bogged down in the design details.
My colleagues created a document of shared ideas for what to include in the portfolio. While creating the map below, I used that document as well as ideas from my previous research. Creating this portfolio has already prompted much reflection on my part, and I expect this to be a big part of the overall product. Here is my current thinking about my digital portfolio, in a concept map created using Mindmeister.
