Pico Bonito
This is the mountain that I wake up to every morning and see all day long as I walk through the village to and from classes. It is the tallest coastal peak in Central America and is surrounded by rain forest. Four of us went to the famed Pico Bonito Lodge one Sunday and enjoyed a hike through the jungle to a swimming area. We were rewarded with a delicious fish meal back at the lodge. This lodge has been written up as one of the best eco-lodges in the world by National Geographic and many other publications. We could not afford to spend the night there, but an afternoon of hiking and eating was good enough.

Yes, I like the little mini-vacations – it’s a good balance to the work of volunteering.

Beautiful Timmy! I have lots of questions but I will save them for when you get back for your short little visit before you’re off again

Thanks, Sharon. Glad you’re reading. Ricardo’s just moved to San Francisco – he wants to experience California.
