How do we assess deeper learning? That is the question I explored in the DLMOOC this week. I also learned more about one innovative way to assess, digital badges, from sources shared in my distance learning course.
I appreciate how these classes have been designed. We are given a topic for the week, suggested and additional materials to read or view, and encouraged to explore areas of interest in depth through our own research. We interact with classmates online and document our learning in a weekly Storify. This model promotes deeper learning and has caused me to consider applying it with my middle school students.
